The lettering challenge was to give more prominence to the beer styles IPA, Session IPA, Lager, Wheat and Stout within the label system while preserving the strong and recognizable identity of Colorado.
My contribution focused on developing the lettering for each beer style across the lineup.
Throughout the process I explored more than 50 variations before arriving at the final compositions that performed best on shelf. Each style required specific adjustments in weight, rhythm and proportion so it could coexist harmoniously with Colorado’s already well known beer names.
For some labels such as Indica, Demoiselle, Kuya and Ribeirão I also refined the main lettering to better integrate the typography with the character of each beer style. All lettering was drawn by hand, aiming to dialogue with the illustrations and the visual language already established by the brand, preserving its personality while improving clarity and visual impact on the packaging.
